Your Journey

From Apprentice to Journeyperson

Apprenticeship in New Brunswick combines on-the-job training with technical schooling. Here’s how the progression works.

01

Register Your Apprenticeship

Once employed in your trade, register with GNB’s Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification branch to formally begin your apprenticeship.

02

Complete Each Level

Progress through trade levels by logging hours with your journeyperson supervisor and completing technical training blocks at NBCC or CCNB.

03

Write Your Certificate of Qualification

After completing all levels and hours, write your Certificate of Qualification exam to become a certified journeyperson. Red Seal available for qualifying trades.
